Our story
Cheffr was founded by an international cook who has been cooking since 2005. Over the years, that journey has crossed oceans: travelling around the world, living in more than six countries, and working in kitchens where every day brought a new language, new ingredients and a new way of sharing a meal.
Living in so many places taught one lesson again and again: food is how people welcome each other. In every country, the most memorable meals were not always in famous restaurants. They were in homes, made by people who cooked with care, tradition and pride. And in every country, there were talented cooks with no easy way to share that gift with the people around them.
When our founder settled in Canada, the same story was everywhere. Canada is home to people from every corner of the world, with recipes passed down through generations. There are trained chefs, home cooks who feed their whole family every weekend, and people who have always been the one everybody asks to bring the food. At the same time, families, busy professionals, seniors and people with special diets were looking for fresh, home-cooked meals made by someone they could trust.
So we built Cheffr: one trusted place where anyone who loves to cook can create a verified profile, set their own schedule and prices, and be found by people nearby who are looking for exactly what they cook. Cheffr started in Ottawa and is now open across Canada, for professional chefs, home cooks and people with no formal experience alike. What matters is the love for food, respect for every kitchen you walk into, and the trust you build with every meal.
